We only ask for what we need to answer you and run your session.

Who looks after your data

What we collect

When you use our request form: your name, WhatsApp number, email (if you give it), the session, number of surfers, preferred date, your level and your message. When you contact us on WhatsApp or by email: what you send us. If you sign up for our newsletter: your email address.

Why we use it

To answer your request, confirm your session, and keep you safe in the water (for example, an injury you tell us about). We don't sell your data. We only send our newsletter to people who sign up for it themselves, and every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe in one click.

Who else sees it

Only the Playtide team, plus the services we need to run the website and our messages: OVH, which hosts our website and our emails, and Google Analytics, if you accept it (see below). If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies.

How long we keep it

Up to 6 months, then we delete it. If you sign up for the newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.

Cookies and statistics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which parts of the page are useful. Its cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Until you accept, Google only receives anonymous signals without cookies (Google Consent Mode), which cannot be linked to you. We don't use advertising cookies.

Surf conditions and map

The "Surf today" box in "Where we surf" shows live waves, wind, water temperature and tides from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). To get them, your browser contacts Open-Meteo's servers, which see your IP address like any website. No cookie is set and nothing else is sent. The Google map in "Find us" only loads if you click "Show the map".

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data: just email contact@playtide.surf. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
